Frederick Maker Market only collects personal information that is necessary*. To fulfill orders, our sellers may need personal information such as name, payment information, mailing address, etc. For Makers, Frederick Maker Market will need personal information mentioned above to help set up shops on our platform.
Frederick Maker Market and our sellers will not use this information for any other purpose. Basic information like name and email addresses may be collected as data for the website but will not be shared with anyone outside of the Frederick Maker Market team.
Necessary personal information is all information that is required for transactions. Transactions include payment of products from customers and release of order payment to makers. Addresses are required to send orders to customers or necessary items to our makers. A P.O box is an acceptable address. Email addresses are used for communication between Frederick Maker Market; makers; customers; subscribers.
Necessary information will only be shared with third parties if it’s required to complete a transaction. Our website is set up via Shopify, which will have access to personal information. Delivery companies and trusted Shopify apps that are used for order fulfillment and management may have access to this personal information if it is necessary for transactions.
Set up is the responsibility of the maker. We will provide log-in information. Instructions for set up are provided through Shopify. The platform is user-friendly and easy to navigate. Frederick Maker Market will provide vendor service and help in set up. Members should email questions to email@example.com . Frederick Maker Market has the right to request shop requirements. If requirements are not met, we have the right to terminate shop.
Shop set up processing time
Upon receiving your interest form, Frederick Maker Market will review the form and send you further information to set up your shop. Makers need store policies and descriptions to complete their store set up. Information for shop set up will include a link for shop/seller login and a password that can be changed during shop set up. Processing of shops vary. Frederick Maker Market will do their best to process information and get you started in a reasonable time period.
All makers/shop owners must be at least 18 years of age. Minors under 18 years of age are permitted to sell their products through the permission and direct supervision by the maker/shop owner. Makers are responsible for any and all account activity conducted by a minor on your account.
Processing, transaction and handling fees will be paid upon the sale of products. 4% processing and 3% +.50 transaction fees will be calculated from the sell price including shipping. Makers will be paid after fulfillment of their product order. 4% is the processing fee of the store. 3% +.50 is the transaction fee of the payment including shipping from the customer and to you. Makers will be given reasonable notice of change.
Payments to Makers
Product payments to makers will be disbursed the fifth business day of the month through internet banking. Your banking information will be set up through the seller dashboard. Payments will be made through Quickbooks.
Geography Requirement of Makers
All Frederick County Maryland and surrounding area makers are welcome to set up their shop makers on Frederick Maker Market.
Shops can be removed at anytime. Please let us know if you would like to remove or pause your shop. If your shop is inactive for more than 30 days, you will be contacted and your shop unpublished.
Customs & Import Taxes
All vendors need to communicate to their customers the liability for any import or customs taxes if applicable.
Payment Options for Shops
Accepted payment options through Shopify include Mastercard, Visa, Discover, American Express, Paypal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, JCB and Elo.
Products sold on Frederick Maker Market are handmade or vintage products. Handmade products must be made by you or a member of your shop. Makers must not violate copyright laws if using licensed products, themes or content.
Prohibited items are weapons; products with hateful messages; drug paraphernalia/products promoting drugs; curative products like CBD oils or pain relievers; items sold through direct sales or multi-level marketing companies.
Shop policies are required on all shop pages. As a seller on Frederick Maker Market, you agree to create shop policies that are transparent to your customer and applicable to your shop while following FMM policies. Sellers represent Frederick Maker Market and the local creative community. Frederick Maker Market expects sellers to run their shop with integrity.
Photos must accurately present products. Products should include a clear description. Products are best presented in high-quality photos with simple white backgrounds. Images can be used for collections, featured products, blogs and advertisement. Images will be credited to the maker and linked to the product when applicable.
Determine prices that are appropriate for you, your shop and items. Prices vary among sellers, shops and products. Taxes and shipping are calculated at checkout.
Returns & Exchanges
Each shop is responsible for setting these policies. Frederick Maker Market is not responsible for returns and exchanges from individual stores.
Shipping and Delivery
Shipping and delivery of store products is the sole responsibility of the vendor of the shop. Shop policies include shipping and delivery policies. Shipping prices are calculated by Shopify based on weight. Shops can set shipping prices, free shipping or delivery.
Determine realistic, clear guidelines for shipping that can be viewed by customers before purchasing. Frederick Maker Market expects orders to be processed in a timely manner but we recognize that appropriate shipping windows will vary based on sellers availability and production/processing time of orders. Sellers may have more than one shipping option and can define shipping times for different types of products in their store policies.
Frederick Maker Market is not responsible for missing items, turn around time of items, repair and replacement of items or return policies of our shops. Shops need to have a clear policy on the aforementioned for their customers. Customers can provide shop feedback which is visible to Frederick Maker Market.
